Bring out the power of florals this summer

Another trend I'm loving this spring is florals. I'm stocking up on ditzy prints in the form of flowy blouses, romantic dresses and little camis, and until the British weather improves, they look amazing with warm layers of cashmere knits to keep the pneumonia away! Very 1940s.

A few brands have come up with really amazing floral items, including Ba&sh, the boho french brand which I stock up on during my trips to Paris. The Irina dress on the right is great, I have it in the cream colour, and I've been wearing it on the week-end with some woolly tights, a large cashmere wrap, a leather jacket and my Hasbeen clog-boots, for total boho fabulosity! I can see how it will work equally well with gladiator flats and a little denim jacket for the summer barbecues.
I got mine in the Saint-Germain shop last week, for €208.

Another name I've come to love this season is Tucker by Gaby Basora. They are stocked by a tiny number of UK retailers (Donna Ida has the best selection, but you can also find smaller samples at Net à Porter and Liberty) and it is a shame, for Tucker blouses are super flattering and come in a dazzling array of prints, all in light-as-a-feather silk. Count around £230 for a bracelet-sleeved blouse.

One item that is a statement piece and can't really work layered for me is my new pair of floral print trousers from Tara Jarmon (again, picked up in Paris). These are soft silk semi-harems with the most beautiful floral print on a black backdrop, and I think they will look amazing with a white tee-shirt and some super high sandals this summer. Given how busy this print is I don't think it will need much more...
