Gorgeous baby clothes by Marie-Chantal

Before getting pregnant, I used to go to Sloane Street and Walton Street in search of dangerously high heels and frilly lingerie, and though I'm still a big fan of Giuseppe Zanotti, La Perla and Myla, I now also go there in search of stunning baby clothes from high-end boutique Marie-Chantal.

The brand was launched by Marie-Chantal of Greece, a beautiful and stylish American heiress who married into European royalty and proceeded to become one of the most photographed women in London's society (for all the right reasons, unlike some shady characters often found in the newspapers). She has five children herself (though you could never guess by looking at her model-like figure!), so you have to trust she knows what she is doing when it comes to dressing little ones!

The clothes are far from cheap, but they are stunningly made and, if you avoid the preppy range, gorgeously on-trend. The fabrics are oh-so soft, which is essential for baby's comfort. Above all, what I love about the Marie-Chantal boutiques is that although there is, like everywhere else, more choice in the girls section, there is a far more diverse range of pint-sized clothes to choose from for little boys when compared to other baby clothes shops. The sales assistants are extremely nice and helpful, making this a worthwhile experience.

We ventured into the Sloane Street boutique yesterday and bought Monsieur Baby a gorgeous crab jumper and some khaki combat trousers in preparation for our month-long vacation with my parents in Morocco, where the warm and humid weather calls for light-weight clothing.

Tees: around £20
Summer knits: around £60
Trousers: around £60
