Anthropologie: my go-to emporium for all things whimsical

In the last couple of years a number of US brands have crossed the pond and opened outlets in the UK, from teenage obsession Abercrombie & Fitch to the ever reliable Banana Republic,…

J.Crew, my all-time favourite for preppy cashmere chic is even promising to open an online platform this summer and though I jumped in delight when I heard that, I haven’t seen an update on the launch since April, which makes me think maybe this is postponed and I’ll have to continue to order from my stateside friends just a little longer.

There is a brand which whilst pretty big in the US remains relatively under the radar here, although I’m sure it is only a question of time until a massive hype develops: Anthropologie, with two shops in London and one in Edinburgh, as well as an online shopping site, is a fabulous one-stop place for all things boho and cool, from gorgeous china for garden parties to delicate jewel pieces.

I visit the Kings Road shop at least once a month, and love to stumble upon unique pieces unlike anything I’ve seen before. It is also a great place for gifts as the prices go from one to four digits, catering for all budgets.
