Fabulous budget finds for your shoe closet

In my opinion, you should always buy the most expensive shoes that you can afford, as shoes will always be a focal point and can take any simple outfit into a whole new glam dimension in a matter of seconds. For example, a simple jeans and tee-shirt suddenly becomes a cool clubbing outfit at the addition of a pair of sequined sandals.

But sometimes, one has to recognise that not everyone has the budget for £500 shoes, which is why it's always such a joy when I see a luxe-looking pair in the window of a high-street shop like Office or Dune. Honestly I think the last few season high-street retailers have made an amazing effort in terms of design, and for some, quality. It's really worthwhile giving them a try, even if I'd recommend keeping some pennies to invest in some serious quality made in Italy heels...

Here is my edit of the moment, five wonderful platform heel pairs all at less than £100... On your marks, get set, shop!

1. Sophisticated purple velvet with feathers and crystals, Aldo, £65
2. Green and gold hidden platform peep toes, Zara, £49.99
3. Another purple pair, less black-tie, more club night, Office, £78
4. Too cool for school peep toe mary-janes, ASOS, £50
5. Leopard, the animal print to go for this season, Dune, £95
