Monday's NAP lust-have item

Whilst it is easy to take a LBD from morning to evening with a simple change of shoes and a little more eye make-up, I find that often the handbag is the giveaway that a girl has come straight from the office to a party. It's rather tough to adapt a large top-handle bag for evening, it always looks too big, even when said bag is a Birkin 35. And don't even get me started on how ridiculous I find the trend of taking clutches to the office... where do you put your laptop, your presentation, the blotting papers etc? And how do you get people to take you seriously in the boardroom if you turn up with something that can only hold a lipstick and a phone? However, judging from the number of photoshoots I see in this season's magazines advocating matching a power suit with a clutch, I can only conclude this trend has been launched by fashion editors with minimal experience of board meetings. What girls need for office is a stylish bag that shouts professional and fashionable, not air-head.

Anyways, enough of the ranting... now to the true purpose of this post. This week's Net-A-Porter lust-have item is possibly the coolest handbag I've ever seen, as it can be used as a messenger bag, a shoulder bag or, you've guessed it, a clutch! It shouldn't surprise you that this comes straight from the imagination of the most creative handbag designers out there, one I admire a lot as you know: Anya Hindmarch!
So next time you go on a week-end away you only need this little treasure... Whilst it doesn't solve the issue of toting around business essentials, it really is the perfect handbag for day to night switches.
