Autumn make-up at Cult Beauty

Every season, I adapt my beauty routine to make sure my skin gets what it needs when it needs it (I see no point in stuffing it with expensive Crème de La Mer in August when a nice light moisturising gel will do the trick...). Similarly, I believe it's imoprtant to change my make-up when the seasons change: the tone of my complexion changes (even if I'm generally light I get just a tiny bit more colour in the summer, especially during the holidays), the colours I wear change, and, most importantly, the light changes.

So, come October, it's out with the bright and hard colours and in with some flattering nudes, greys and the light beige or pink lip glosses make way to darker hues, often in a matt finish. I also loathe to see a bright pink pedi after Halloween, it's all about dark or taupey shades until March for me!

This is why I love places such as Cult Beauty. Instead of navigating aimlessly the ground floor of a department store, trying to avoid sales people who are trying to suffocate me with "A spritz of the new [***] fragrance?" (please no!) , whilst sampling products with no unbiased opinion to rely on, I much prefer browsing this cool website, which picks only the best products, and provides customer reviews for all to see. If some products tempt you but you're not sure, you can even order some free samples to try at home!

Here is my AW2011 make-up finds list:

1. Omorovicza Complexion Enhancer SPF15, £74.00
The latest beauty craze is all about blemish balms and complexion enhancers, and this one is rumoured to be one of the best ones out there;

2. Nail Girls Moss Green Nail Polish, £10.50
Dark red is my default colour for the cold months, but I also like to experiment so I'm going to try this colour.. love that these nail polishes come with no nasties!

3. BECCA Lost Weekend Palette
Nudes, browns and greys make for the best daytime looks during the Autumn, and this little palette is perfect for this trend;

4. 3 Custom Color Lip and Cheek Stain
Just because you're adapting to the new light doesn't mean you have to walk around colourless... add a bit of colour to your look with a gorgeous all-round stain colour, preferrably in dark red;

5. Blinc Brow Mousse
I don't care what beauty editors say, I will always prefer a nice full but groomed eyebrow to a bushy look, it opens up your whole eye, great for those of us who suffer from sleep deprivation!
