Ice skating at Somerset House

This afternoon I went to Somerset House for ice skating for the first time since I've moved to London, I had an absolute blast. Every winter, around Chrismastime, the courtyard of this fabulous historical building is transformed into an ice rink, this year sponsored by Tiffany's.

I've skated in quite a few places before and I have to say, this is by far the most gorgeous setting I've ever skated in, from the fabulous historical buildings to the gigantic Christmas tree, the amazing lighting, it's all really magical. And frankly, seeing everything that's happening the world at the moment, we all need a little bit of Potter  powder...

After skating we went for drinks in the Tom Aikens' icerink-side bar... though it was served in paper cups the mulled wine was lovely and we had an overall wonderful evening!

Of course I dressed up quite warm for this outing: I am Moroccan after all, whenever I walk by our home freezer I feel like reaching for the parka! Here's what I wore:
- Navy velvet trousers J Brand at Donna Ida
- Navy superfine merino knit Nicole Farhi at Harrods
- Cashmere tee over the turtleneck, Zadig & Voltaire
- Rabbit fur gilet N.Peal
- Necklace Chanel
- Gloves Sermoneta
- Skates... ever so stylish as you can see, included in the Somerset House ticket!

Somerset House SKATE is open until 22 January 2012. Plan your visit here: http://www.somersethouse.org.uk
