Monday's Matches lust-have item

There are days when everything seems to be working to make me totally utterly miserable, from the weather to the markets to the aggressive drivers dangerously buzzing through the City in their Porsches, with no regard for other drivers or pedestrians, to the simple fact that it's November, I'm tired and need a holiday...

When such moments occur and a private jet flight to The Maldives isn't on hand (it never is in my life, sadly!) I go for the next best thing: retail therapy... a.k.a. LittleS' alternative to Prozac. Works a charm but like the little green pills, it's quite addictive, so I've recently invented a new system: my personal wishlist across shops, brands, and websites. I keep it in a neat excel and when I want to spoil myself, I fish in the list for something. This means I don't shop on impulse but that I browse for goodies anytime I feel low.

The newest item on the list is this pair of gorgeous Tribtoo pumps by the master of elegance, Yves Saint-Laurent, in my mind the inventor of all things stylish, flattering and cool. Nobody has done it better since he left. It's a good thing however that his team is perpetuating the style of the name and I'm a big devotee of their shoe range.

What I love the most about it is how they offer two heel heights, which is very helpful when you have to wear your shoes to outings and activities that are not confined to the bedroom (hey, I'm just saying...) I like to wear my shoes to work, to dinner, on trips etc, so this lower 4'' heel height is ideal for me, especially as it comes with a 1.4'' platform. And the colour, well, with a blog that's called The Lilac Pages, I don't think I need to say much more really!

This pair has been on my wishlist as well!

I've also been trying to find this pair in the Leaf Green colour, which is a beautiful emerald green colour. But no luck so far ...

Mona... I find that the YSL shops on Sloane St and Bond St have great inventory and also wonderful service. They'll even put a pair on the side for you.

Called both stores and tried department stores (Harrods, Selfridges) just last week, they didn't have the Leaf Green colour in stock.
