Party season style for the bambini

The Holiday season is almost here, and whilst it's still far enough I can put off thinking about the tedious aspects such as my Natoora organic birds order or whether The River Cafe or The Wolseley would be nicer to take my visiting relatives out for lunch on the 25th... no, we can leave this for later, much later (can you tell I can procrastinate like no other when it comes to boring tasks?).

For now, I'm focusing on what I consider the most important part of the Holidays: styling! And this year, I get to think not only about myself, but also about Monsieur Baby. You see, I can understand the fun in a mini Santa or Elf outfit, however I like to think that I am minimising the risk of a massive row with my baba in twenty years' time if I pick some well-chosen outfits for the pictures. They might very well end up blown up at a graduation party or a wedding and if this kid is like me, he won't see the humour in an embarassing picture.

For little type-A mammas like me, Alex & Alexa is a god-send, with their enormous selection of luxury clothes, accessories and toys for babies and children. This is the place to run for if you want to spoil your tiny tots with goodies by Little Marc Jacobs or Rykiel Enfant. If you're obsessed with labels, you'll love this website.

Check out their Gift Shop for the upcoming holidays, and if you're lost for ideas here is a little help, with a couple of my favourites for children party styling: I stay way clear of princessy tutu dresses and mini suits, instead going for a more boho vibe which will mean your little ones are comfy and stylish.

And, before I leave you to contemplate three cool looks I picked from the website, one last piece of advice: wherever you take your little ones to celebrate this year, make sure you take enough toys, books, DVDs etc. along to ensure they don't shout the whole house down out of boredom... just a thought!
