Bringing Spring to the dining table!

March is here at long last, together with fresh blooms and yummy salad dishes, and I'm already dreaming about al fresco dining in our tiny garden... Whenever we hit this time of the year I start thinking forward to garden parties and barbecue afternoons, and I'm always keen to have a colourful table to greet my guests for a fun party.

Luckily, this season there is plenty of colourful options for the perfect Spring dinner party... here are some of my favourites.

From top left, clockwise:

Yellow tumblers, Anthropologie: I adore this American store, and visit the King's Road location anytime I'm in the neighbourhood (seeing that I live a few minutes down the road, I'm constantly here); their homeware range is quirky and fun and functional, and makes you want to cook and have loads of friends round; I'm totally in love with these tumblers, wouldn't they be perfect for lemonade or Long Island ice tea?

Green jug, LSA at Oliver Bonas: I have this jug, it's a wee bit smaller than it looks on picture, so it's perfect for margaritas, not water... the colour is fabulous, and it livens up a table like nothing else;

Dessert plate, Portmerion at John Lewis:  Just picture a table with this range spread out for Sunday brunch, with a couple of vintage cake stands holding some hot-cross buns and muffins in the middle with a bouquet of colourful blooms, perfection right?

Pink napkin set, Zara Home: Zara Home make amazing seasonal collections, and their Spring and Summer tableware is bursting with flowers and colours that are hard to find in more expensive shops; I am totally addicted to their linen, affordable and chic...

Glass bowl, Ikea: Ok, before you all comment that I'm crazy, I am not advocating that you go all the way to an Ikea superstore just for a glass bowl, however, if you happen to be looking for a new mattress or maybe a chest of drawer to cover in your own fabric (like I did for our bedroom), you might venture in the home accessories area and find some fun and really cheap goodies;

Melamine plate and spoons, part of set, Whitbread Wilkinson at Notonthehighstreet.com:  next time you want to take the party outside and organise a picnic in one of London's fine parks, remember to take out a beautiful melamine set like this one, it beats the supermarket's paper and plastic plates don't you think?

I am off to see where I can find some cute ornaments to make a Spring tree next, we have guests next week and I want our home to look as welcoming as possible!

Anthropologie has the cutest houseware department.
Ikea does have some great home accessories.
Love the pink nakins, too bad we don't have a Zara Home here. :(

@Mree, I am a huge fan of Anthro, so happy they are finally in Europe!

@Mona P, I have the jug and get plenty of use for it! It's ideal for bbq parties.
