Favourite hotels: Westin Vendôme Paris

This week I travelled to Paris for a quick business trip, less than 24 hours, just enough for a couple of meetings, but also to catch up with Malou from 33 Avenue and a quick dash to a couple of my favourite boutiques around  Rue Saint-Honoré to check out the sales (yes I did find a gorgeous little something, I promise to write about it later).

Whenever I come to Paris on business I stay at the Westin Vendôme, a classic luxury hotel a couple of steps away from the Jardin des Tuileries, and, conveniently, my office in Paris... When you have to be at the desk at 7am sharp it makes a great deal of difference!

The hotel got a massive refurbishment a couple of years ago, and all the rooms are now modern and comfortable, with all amenities including an Ipod dock (now if only I had time to listen to music!) I was lucky to get a big upgrade this week, with a luxury suite which had a lounge big enough to house a whole family... makes you think sometimes...

The big highlight was the super comfy yet classical-looking sofas, and the bed, huge and with a firm mattress and loads of pillows! I ordered a lobster salad with spring vegetables from room service to keep me going through the next day's presentation, and it arrived quickly and deliciously. Can't fault luxe service!

The only downside, one which has always been an issue in this hotel: the bathroom, tiny and slightly dated, frankly not in keeping with the rest of the room... then again amply sufficient for bathing and showering!
