It's time for the Sunday fashion confession

Every year, one of my favourite pieces to pick is my investment jacket or coat from the AW collections... it's a special treat that I research by studying the pictures from the runways, to see what trends I'm going to like the best, and then by looking at the pieces both online and in store. An investment piece is not something to take lightly!

Although to be honest, this year there was really very little thinking involved, it was love at first sight from the moment I set my eyes on this beauty... See for me, Burberry presented one of the best collections this season, opulent yet easy to adapt for day-to-day life, elegant yet effortless, and that wonderful country ambiance that could only work in the collection of a Brit house (I mean could you imagine Heidi Slimane presenting country elegance for YSL? Not really right?)

This jacket ticks all the boxes for me: a shorter length, that ever-so-flattering peplum, made of the most exquisitely elaborate pleats, the leather martingale to mark the waist on the back, and finally that amazing colour. Called elderberry, it's a rich burgundy-plum shade which is one of my favourite colours for winter.

Despite all this, I took my time, went to try it on twice, before deciding to get it. I used one of my Harrods 10% off days on my Rewards card, to make the hit just a tiny bit less hefty...

Like this jacket? Find it at Burberry and also on Net-A-Porter. Happy Sunday everyone!

Absolutely beautiful color and the shape is very romantic. I think the short length opens it up for a lot more outfits than a long coat.

I totally agree Jordan, that's why I picked it, I have much more fun with short coats!

I love it just don't know if I could get it or afford it! Maybe when it's on sale =D

Amy you're right this didn't come cheap, but my experience with Burberry coats is they last a lifetime, although I'm sure there will be very similar pieces in the high street very soon for smaller budgets!
