Hello everyone... Happy Wednesday! Today I'm off to Germany for a couple of days on work duties, but not before posting my weekly steal vs. splurge post.
Yesterday I happened to have some time for myself at Madrid Barajas airport, thanks to an unexplained cancellation by British Airways (thanks guys!) and I had plenty of time to browse my favourite shops at the terminal, especially the Zara one. And that's where I got the idea for today's post.
For me, one of the fiercest trends of the last couple of seasons is glam punk, with the Rockstud collection by Valentino being the best possible interpretation of it. I adore these little booties, and I think I'm not the only one, as they are sold out pretty much everywhere except at Valentino at MyTheresa (at the time of writing...). But it's been hard to find something similar in the high street: see this collection combines elegant feminine lines such as kitten heels and pointed toes, with the contrasting studs for that added edge. And I think that's what most of the cheaper brands are missing, they all seem intent on combining studs with chunky heels, a huge platform and sometimes even a square block heel. Non merci!
Thankfully the Galician stylists know better and they have created an inspired model by Zara which comes in black or nude (also the colours in which you'll find the Valentino ones, I personally prefer black... more punk!) And the even better news? They cost just under £60 whilst the original ones will set you off a cool £670.
Happy shopping! xxx
