Christmas outfits (2): Grey layers for a day of shopping

Somedays, like today, I'm feeling quite blue, or rather grey... As much as I love my job, there are days when I feel so discouraged that I'm ready to give up. Internal politics,  management by autocracy, and, my absolute favourite, the ultimate inventors of time wasting projects that go nowhere... This week has been full of all of these, and more.

The thing is, I know for a fact this is not something specific to my job, so, until the working world changes or my fairy godmother appears to whisk me out of here to a beautiful new place ressembling the inside of a LadurĂ©e box, all I can do is grit my teeth (some might, by chance, mistake it for a smile!) and carry on... and whilst I'm dreaming of a better place, here's a new little post on what I'm planning to wear on the holidays. After all, what's best than planning outfits for cheering me up?

One of the things I love about the holidays in London is that sales starts just after Christmas, giving fashionistas time to go shop for AW beauties before returning to the rush of the office. My favourite places to go sales shopping are: Sloane Street, Harvey Nicholas, and Harrods of course. The important thing about sales shopping is layering, as you move between cold and warm environment and you want to be able to try things on without waiting in line for the changing rooms. Take a look below, an appropriately grey outfit, perfect for Boxing Day sales shopping!

- Lace-print skinny jeans (perfect to try skirts over!), Current/Elliot
- Too warm inside? Strip down to this pretty silk and jersey top, by Victoria Beckham Denim
- This gorgeous angora cardi by Acne will keep you warm when you come out!
- Grey coat, perfect for days off and work, Mint Velvet
- Keep your hands free for all the shopping bags with this cross body bag by Anya Hindmarch
- Wedge boots are the ideal compromise between comfort and style, by Balenciaga
- Fingerless racoon gloves, cute, warm and quirky, by Accessorize
- Finish up with a fabulous scarf to keep the wind out, Hugo Boss

hey sweets

I currently feel the same at work - endless meetings and stupid projects through the day just for me to finally get back to my desk after 5pm to find an inbox bursting with dozens of unread emails :-(
The best way to cope: HIIT training on my treadmill, some online shopping and cozy evenings with DH with a nice glass of red :-)

I wish you a calm and happy weekend!
xoxo

Thanks Steph! I agree, sometimes it's good to go back to what makes us truly happy, and I'm like you: family, online shopping, and workouts! xxx
