The ones that got away: Alaïa platform shoe boots

As I'm writing, I'm mentally kicking myself, and in fact if I could physically be kicking myself if it didn't require some impossible contortion and leave Monsieur Baby and Hubby Dearest staring at me with a slightly worried look on their face, I think I would... Why such rage, you ask? Simple, my fashion hunting instincts have failed me miserably and I now have an impossible crush on boots that have all but sold out everywhere.

Here's how it happened: I had these bi-colour AW 2012 Azzedine Alaïa lace-up boots on my wishlist on a couple of websites, but then I couldn't decide if I'd wear them often enough to justify the investment, or if they were too high. They are quite vertiginous at 5.5 inches including the platform, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt like we were meant to be together, these sky-high booties and me... Until the moment, last Friday, when I thought "Ok, let's go, I have to have them".

Alas, once I'd made my decision, it was too late, everywhere I've looked, my size (37) has sold out everywhere and all I'm left with are a few of the teal leopard-print pony skin ones (hmmm.. a bit too out there, even for me) and my eyes to cry (a translation from French, forgive me, my English fails me sometimes).

From what I gather, there were a few variations of these beauties, and my favourite is the all suede grey and black lace-up version above, I feel like a love-lorn teenager thinking about them... I also like the all black mesh and suede option, below. Basically I'm obsessed with Alaïa shoes that I can't have at the moment. Argh!

My last hope is that there might be a 37 pair somewhere in a shop half-way around the world, and frankly I'm ready to order them from New Zealand at this point. So here is the deal dear friends: if any one of you helps me find one of these booties in my size, I will, one, be eternally grateful, and two, be obliged to return the favour by either attempting to locate one of your own "Got-Aways". Come on, help a desperate fashionista!

Hello, I have had a quick look on the net over here (Australia), and nothing . I can only find these boots on the Matches site and not your size. It is annoying when this happens. I hope you find them somewhere.

@Longuette, @Pearls & Caramel, I know it's a futile and superficial obsession, but what can I do, I love shoes...
