In my Spring shopping list: China blue and crisp white

It might still be unseasonably cold here in London, but I'm very much looking forward to the new season, and I have to confess that I have fallen in love with quite a few (ok, a lot of...) pieces from the new collections. One trend I'm particularly fond of for Spring is china blue prints: it's fresh, easy to dress up with a   little dress or down with rolled up boyfriend jeans, and it can go from rainy London to sunny Provence easily... it's easy to understand why it made my Spring shopping list! Here's a look at some of the pieces I'm looking forward to wearing in the sunny days...

So, what would I wear for a China Blue themed girlie lunch? Easy, I always start an outfit with the shoes (this  little phrase does tell you a lot about me, doesn't it...)

I first saw Aquazzura shoes on some pictures of the impossibly cool Giovanna Battaglia, a fashionista well worth googling if you've never come across her before, and I instantly fell in love. I ordered these as soon as they dropped on the shop floor at my favourite online shop, Matches. The design is aptly called Sexy Thing, I love how they combine edgy with glamour and they are incredibly comfortable and light (don't you hate how some shoes look gorgeous but then weigh a ton on the foot, well not these ones!). Find them here: Aquazzura at MyTheresa and Aquazzura at Matches.

Ok, shoes sorted... next, I've been looking for the perfect crochet white dress for a couple of years, so when  I found this dress I knew it would be months before I could wear it but still it will look fabulous with heels in the city and flat greek sandals on the beach, it's a perfect Summer classic. You can find it here: Collette by Collette Dinnigan at Matches.

Now of course in London you never know what the weather will be like so it's perfect that the new season collections are full of little quilted cotton jackets. You can literally find these everywhere this month, from high street to designer... This trend is a bit reminiscent of the traditional Chinese jackets, minus the frog buttons. I love how this one, which has only been delivered to my walk-in closet, all the way from the US, from J.Crew.

And finally, because no outfit is every finished without a fabulous bag, I thought this bleu jean tote would be perfect... Find it here: French Connection at ASOS.

Here you have it, my take on China blue for Spring 2013... what do you think?
