In my Autumn shopping list: Luxury punk

If, like me, you've been told you are a bit of a rebel and have too much attitude for your own good, then you're probably skipping with excitement with the landslide of punk-inspired fashion from the high street all the way to the haute couture powerhouses such as Chanel. The thing is, if you're over 15... then the best way to wear this trend this season is to opt for the high luxe stream in this fashion trend, think fabulous leather pieces rather than ripped jeans, studded jackets instead of slogan tee-shirts (keep those for the gym!) etc.

Punk is all about creating a shock, but unless you're in a rock band or work as a hair stylist, stay away from the nose ring and opt for special pieces. I love studded shoes, and found the perfect flats by Christian Louboutin which are unbelievably luxe, cool and feminine at the same time. Obviously one of the key things about punk is plaid, or tartan... wearing it with black and punk-ish accessories makes it edgy and modern, rather than old and frumpy. Finish off the look with fierce accessories, such as studded rings and bracelets, spiky necklaces, but remember, before going out, to remove one piece lest it be too much!

One thing I'll give a miss in this trend? Mohawk hair dos... fake or real. That's just a bit too out there for me! In the meanwhile, look what I found to be the perfect little punk this season!
