This season, I'm embracing a more formal look in the office, as my time is spent more and more meeting clients and senior people and less in front of my computer screens mentally shouting at the Bloomberg screens, peering over traders runs. More tailored dresses, more trousers and jackets combos, and more pinstripes... Yes, you read well, pinstripes. But don't worry, I'm not going back to the shoulder padded suits of my 1980s City predecessors. I'm attempting a slightly more feminine approach. Judge for yourselves!
Now this dress is a bit more my usual style, compared with last outfit of the day's post... fitted around the waist, flared on the hips, perfect for my, hmmm, slightly curvy shape. The pinstripes make it perfect for work, and it's fully lined so I don't fill the chill of the office at all!
By the way, did you notice my shoes? These lovely shoe boots were one of the pairs from last Winter's collection by Alaïa, and I'd narrowly missed out on them, until one of my most adorable readers pointed this pair out on a Yoox sale. I jumped at them and I'm so happy I managed to snatch them, look how pretty they look! I love this about this blog, the people who follow me and interact with me through the webpage but also Facebook and Twitter, it's like having a few extra long time friends.
So there you have it... How I wore pinstripes without going all corporate. What do you think?

- Suede and mesh shoe boots, Azzedine Alaïa
