Camel and black... one of my favourite colour combinations for Autumn Winter. I know that's not very original (had I come up with fuschia pink and mustard it might have been a bit more special, but I'm not sure it would work as well). It's one of the reasons why I like a good camel coat, because you slip it over a boring black outfit on a rushed morning, throw in a fabulous pair of shoes, and suddenly you look like you've made an effort. And that, my dear friends, is exactly what I did yesterday...
Frankly, the shoes are a bit, hmm, original for the corporate world, and I did remember I had a townhall session only at around 8:50am, 10 minutes before the start, when it was too late to switch into more classic (ahem, boring) black courts. I did get a few perplexed looks, clearly not everyone is as tolerant as my team on the fashion side of life. But I can't help myself, they are so me. And, I figure, so long as I'm not mixing them with bold stripes or florals then I'm on the safe side for the office. Admittedly, not everyone will agree on this point...
Coat and shoes found, all I needed to spice up my otherwise very plain outfit were a couple of bling accessories from the Bendel collection (do visit this little department store when you're in NYC, not only do they have super cute jewellery but they also have fab candles of which some are amazing smell-a-likes for Diptyque ones!). Ta-dah, done!
