Monday's ultimate high street and designer mix

Who said fashion must be expensive to look good? Not me! In fact, yesterday's outfit is the proof that I am an avid mixer of high street and designer. Basically, I could be defined  (in big part, not totally, evidently) as the one who will shop anywhere and everywhere. Ok there might be a couple of exceptions (I abhor cheap fake leather shoes, they have a weird plastic-y smell), but overall I'm no brand snob. If you're not convinced, just take a look at these pictures...

This is a typical of my lazy outfits: wear black everywhere, preferably in comfy shapes, and spice it up with fabulous accessories. And, lately, in my book of accessories, it doesn't get much more fabulous than my Milan handbag by Milli Millu. The colour combination, camel, black and gold hardware, is perfect for winter, when black bags can get so boring!!! This one has the added bonus of being super roomy yet light, a big advantage seeing as I'm carrying bits of the Great Wall with me most days.

Besides from my Milan and my scarf, most of this outfit is, very much high street, and of the very affordable variety as well... In fact I picked up my coat and booties from the aisle next to the salads! How is that for no snobbery? Yet I get so many compliments on this boucle biker and my little lace-ups, they have returned far beyond their original cost. I think the secret in picking super high street finds is checking the materials (wool mix is far better than polyester, obviously, and 100% leather shoes are a far superior choice versus pu, whatever pu means).

There you have it, my  80% high street - 20% designer look. What do you think?
- Double breasted boucle biker coat, Marks and Spencer
- Wool tunic dress with zipped pockets, The White Company
- Milan handbag in camel and black calf leather, Milli Millu
- Print cashmere and silk stole, Louis Vuitton
- Lace-up ankle boots, Marks and Spencer

Can't believe that coat is from M &S! I never see things like that...

Great styling Sandra! I wish we still had M&S over here in the Great White North...they retreated from the North American market about 15 years ago. The bordeaux and calf hair Milan was my pick when you had the discount code a while back, but my newlywed budget had me hemming and hawing over the purchase so I will have to wait until I visit the UK/Europe next year. Hope the markets were good to you this year!
Cheers

I'm with you on the cheap shoes - only leather for me and I love a beautiful scarf but otherwise I'm not a label snob if the fabric is good.

Quite tempted, actually. What is the 10pc discount code.

PU=polyurethane but to me pronounced out p-u is more appropriate. I am a snob when it comes to shoes--only natural materials. My feet need to breathe! You look fabulous in this outfit, as always. I don't know how you find the time to shop, with your career and busy family life, but I am in awe of what you find and how you put it together. xo
