Tuesday: Country style chic with a hint of animal print for my second day back

Happy 2014 everyone!! I know it's January 7 already and I've been away for a long time, but I needed the break. My body decided on December 18 that it was time I went on a biologically imposed break and I spent Christmas bed-bound, before recovering my health slowly on the mountains in Courchevel. I'm glad to say I'm back in great form, and I'm so looking forward to writing more... Starting with today's outfit.

In all honesty, this is almost my perfect Saturday errands outfit:  just replace the stilettos with ballerinas and the tailored trousers with skinny jeans, and you have my ideal busy mamma outfit. But then again I didn't have a single meeting today, only calls, so it felt ok to go a little country chic in the office for this second day back... remember it's been quite windy in London this week but very warm after the wintry French Alps, so my little Barbour by Anya Hindmarch jacket is the perfect cover-up at the moment. It's such a cool take on the British  classic, with the bow quilting and the little inside pockets for lipstick,  dog treats,  coins...

The trousers are another great item in my walk-in closet: they are from Boden, and yet made of great quality  wool and fully lined (something that's become quite rare, even if you buy designer!), which makes a big difference. I buy them in petite size to get that 7/8 length that I love. They make a great neutral backdrop for my printed scarf and animal print pony stilettos.

Details of my outfit below:
- Quilted Barbour jacket, Anya Hindmarch (AW 2010 collection)
- Wool cigarette trousers in camel, Boden
- Monogrammed cashmere Tippi jumper, J.Crew
- Birkin, cashmere and silk shawl and Collier de Chien bracelet, Herm├Ęs
- Leopard ponyskin stilettos, Carolina Herrera (these J.Crew ones are very close)
- Leather gloves, Sermoneta

Glad you had a good break to start the new year! PS love the shoes. I am loving leopard print so much lately.

someone has to explain to me how come that British people (ok, you are not British ut live in London) can managed not to wear socks or tights in Winter. This is still a mistery to me.....
I wish I could but my feet are always so cold that I am going barefoot only 2 months a year. And I live in Italy O_o

Happy New Year, Sandra.
Glad to see you back and well! I bet your recovery was expedited from the crisp clean air of the Alps. Love the quilted jacket, as I have a weakness for bows. I've browsed the Boden site, but it doesn't seem to ship to Canada, where I live. How do you find their petite sizing? I wear UK 8 for a Hobbs.

Thank you ladies!
@Longuette remember the offices are quite warm so it really doesn't feel cold with bare feet.
@Evie, I'd say their petite sizing is true to size, and the length is nice as in it's not too short.
