Wednesday's beauty essential: Mio's The Activist Body Oil

It is quite fair to say that I finished 2013 on a low, with my body giving up on me after months of a grueling travel schedule and too many months of letting myself get stressed out by office politics. Fast forward to 2014, and I've decided this is the year I'm going to be strong, take good care of myself and be blissfully ignorant of people's backstabbing tactics.

One way I try to balance all of my travels is by relaxing to the max whenever I'm at home, and I was thrilled to pick up this new product from SpaceNK the other day. It's part of the new Mio range (same company that makes some super fabulous pregnancy body care products I used and abused three years ago), and the moto for the new range is "strong is the new skinny". Amen to that! My new post-shower treat is a super quick to absorb body oil called The Activist.

I fell instantly in love with the uplifting scent of this multi-oil cocktail: sweet almond, coconut and argan for suppleness and hydration, carrot seed, cranberry seed, safflower seed, and jojoba seed for firmness, and that's just part of the ingredients list! Yummy. I tried it on that same evening over damp just-showered skin, and it's fabulous. The scent stays on, my skin feels super soft, and though I've not used it enough yet to see a significant change in the firmness of my skin just the routine of massaging this on will help, I'm positive.

It's stocked online as well, so I'll be restocking easily: Mio The Activist body oil.

PS: How about you? Any new year beauty finds lately? Tell me about them please! xxx

We are in a polar vortex here in the Norteast USA. Between the frigid wind chills and the heated home I need to try something new to help my dry skin. Sounds like something my body needs to get back to its normal self. My regular lotions aren't helping much.

Hello, I've just recently discovered your blog and I love it ! I appreciate, in particular, how well you can coordinate colors and your attention to detail with accessories.
I have been steering towards natural organic products recently (which are so hard to find btw - don't even try the deodorants !!). My recent beauty discovery is Manuka honey face cream from New Zealand. I tried it on a lark when I stumbled upon it on amazon and it's been working wonderfully with my combination skin. It makes my skin glow and seems to make it firmer as well.

What a good philosophy for 2014. My plans for rest have been thwarted recently as my youngest has regressed hugely in her sleep.
A recent beauty find for me has been a rose moisturising cleanser from Jurlique which was is perfect for this cold weather.
