Wednesday's beauty essential: Shu Uemura Brightening Cleansing Oil

When it comes to skin cleansers, most of us grew up thinking milks, foams, gels... but really oil didn't really feature in the cleansing skincare until only a few years ago. More recently though, beauty counters everywhere have filled with cleansing balms, oils etc., cleansers that don't leave skin tight with dryness and aching for a bit of moisture. And yet, for me, there is one oil: Shu Uemura's range stands well above all the others. Let me tell you why...

Let's  look at the ingredients... First up, mineral oil, the base, sneaks into every little pore to wipe away any tiny bit of make-up and dirt, and yet it's watery enough to be easily massaged on my skin, leaving my face tingly from extra circulation. After emulsifying the oil with some warm water, my skin emerges brighter, it's time to look at what else goes into this little baby: prune extract, vitamin C encased in a polymer (to keep it fresh), etc. etc. The list goes on with melanin fighting goodies, it's amazing.

I find it best to follow this with a mild toner after rinsing it off, as I don't like the light film it leaves on my skin, I prefer it squeaky clean. Then I'm ready for my night moisturizer and some good zzz.. god knows, this week again, I need them!

that's good to know.
I have started using oil to replace body lotion as my skin is very dry (yes, I do drink lots of water!) and oil work wonder (I am using Honey oil by l'Occitane)

always nice reading you :-))))
