TLP fashion edit: Three go-to brands for Spring-Summer party emergencies

We all have them... You get an invitation, assume for weeks that you will be using one of your old dresses, but as the date approaches, well, you realise you would really really like a new dress. Just one of life's normal emergencies, right? (Please don't burst my bubble and tell me that I'm the only one...)

Needle & Thread
This one is for when the occasion calls for glamour and sparkle: a glitzed-up cocktail party, a black tie dinner, or a film premiere (yes, I go to lots of premieres... usually in my dreams). Also perfect for a Spring wedding with all the floral embroidery. These dresses (and the odd playsuit, but I don't necessarily recommend going that way for a party, read my post about jumpsuits and their pitfalls from a few months ago which will remind you of the awkwardness of wearing an adult size babygro for an extended period of time) can expect to be worn whilst drinking vintage Veuve and mingling with a fabulous crew. If you want to show a bit of tummy then consider their fabulous separates of a tulle skirt with an embellished crop top... very Sex & The City meets Indian glamour. I've picked three pink-heavy dresses here but pink is not all they do: they have gorgeous black sparkly numbers and I'm lusting after some of their green dresses from the new season.
You can find Needle & Thread at all the below:
- Net-A-Porter
The Outnet

Three Floor
Love Self-Portrait? Then you will adore Three Floor. The label's collections are filled with dresses which are created to stand out: mixed patterns and textures, corded lace, mesh, transparent panels and different lengths; all done sustainably in the most modern fabrics by a small team in Hong Kong. Ultimately each model has a unique design which is perfect when you just want a little black dress (or blue, purple.. etc) but still want to make an entrance. Three Floor is also perfect if you are picking dresses for bridesmaids, as each one can have the perfect dress for herself, but the patterns and fabrics can still all match.

Rixo London
I know I've told you about Rixo before... but indulge me. This is the brand for the ultimate party girls. Think Studio 54 reload. Every single dress features hand drawn designs which are created by the founders before being printed on the lightest silk. I have my eye on their moon and stars limited edition print from this season...
